                                Sections 7 & 8

      Establishes provisions for privacy and liability requirements for telecommunications companies providing emergency services.

      Declares that the provisions of chapter 9.73 RCW shall not apply to a 911 or enhanced 911 emergency service.

(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

                              Sections 1-6 & 9-17

      Creates a state-wide enhanced 911 network.

      Provides for a state enhanced 911 coordination office and an advisory committee.

      Imposes an excise tax on all switched access lines to finance the program.

      Repeals RCW 80.36.550, 80.36.5501, and 82.14B.080.

      Requires certain sections of the act to be submitted to the voters for approval at the next general election.
