HB 2205 - DIGEST

      Establishes the Washington healthcare service as a public corporation to implement and administer the Washington healthcare plan.

      Designates the funding sources for the healthcare plan.

      Provides for the creation of regional organizations.

      Provides for alternative healthcare plans.

      Establishes an explicit policy regarding rationing of health care services.

      Designates a schedule for implementation of the plan.

      Provides for protection from improper queuing for health care services.

      Provides for exclusion from the plan by referendum.

      Requires evaluation of the healthcare plan and a report to the legislature by January 1, 1994.

      Takes effect January 1, 1993.
