HB 2290 - DIGEST

(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

      Establishes criminal penalties for a contractor who installs or maintains a fire protection sprinkler system which threatens the safety of an occupant, or who conducts business without a fire sprinkler contractor's license.

      Requires the state director of fire protection to adopt rules for contractors who install underground systems that service fire protection sprinkler systems.

      Authorizes the attorney general or prosecuting attorney to institute civil proceedings to enforce the provisions of chapter 18.160 RCW.
