HB 2968 - DIGEST

      Imposes a tax equal to three dollars per patient day on every nursing home for the privilege of engaging in business in the state.

      Revises provisions regarding the sale of nursing facilities.

      Directs the legislative budget committee to conduct a study of asset transfer and estate recovery provisions as they relate to establishing medicaid eligibility.

      Directs the department of social and health services to undertake a review of the current methods of funding nursing facility construction projects.

      Makes appropriations to carry out the purposes of the act.
