      Includes classified staff in the award program.

      Designates the award as the Washington State Christa McAuliff Award.

      Revises provisions for award of certificates, academic grants, and recognition stipends.

      Provides that recipients shall be credited with thirty clock hours of continuing education requirements.

      Requires recipients of academic grants to attend a state institution of higher education.

      Makes an appropriation of sixty-three thousand seven hundred dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.

      Repeals RCW 28A.625.040, 28A.625.070, and 28B.15.547.

      Declares an emergency and takes effect immediately.
