SB 5164 - DIGEST

      Provides that a person must keep a firearm in a securely locked container or shall secure the firearm with a trigger lock.

      Makes the violation of the requirement a misdemeanor offense and, if injury or death occurs, it is a class C felony offense.

      Requires signs or labels warning a purchaser of a firearm of the provisions of the act.

      Takes effect January 1, 1992.
