SB 5253 - DIGEST

 

      Requires the posting of warning signs if a pesticide is applied to public and private school grounds, day care centers, public recreation areas, or residential property.

      Requires the pesticide applicator to give written notice to affected property owners prior to treatment.

      Exempts state and local health departments and mosquito control districts from the posting and notification requirements.

      Directs the establishment of pesticide use education and information programs for the public.

      Makes an appropriation of forty-five thousand dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.
