      Provides for the protection of emergency district workers from death or disability arising in the performance of their duties.

      Creates a trust fund for the benefit of the workers.

      Establishes a board of trustees to administer the chapter.

      Directs the board to make provisions for the employment of a physician to examine applicants for membership.

      Establishes the entitlements for illness or injury to the workers.

      Establishes pension benefits.

      Provides for payments for funeral expenses.

      Creates a state board for volunteer emergency medical service districts.
