SB 5857 - DIGEST

      Provides loan assistance to minority individuals to ensure that they have access to the educational prerequisites of criminal justice professions.

      Appoints an advisory committee.

      Creates a minority criminal justice education loan program.

      Places conditions on the award of the loans.

      Specifies repayment requirements.

      Prohibits loans after July 1, 1997, until the program is reviewed.

      Makes appropriations to carry out the purposes of the act.
