SB 6218 - DIGEST

      Revises the purpose of chapter 71.34 RCW to ensure that minors receive an appropriate continuum of culturally relevant care and treatment from prevention and early intervention to involuntary treatment.

      Requires county-designated chemical dependency specialists to be specifically trained in adolescent chemical dependency issues, the commitment laws, and the criteria for commitment.

      Establishes procedures for a determination that a minor does not meet the criteria for a commitment to a chemical dependency program.
