SJR 8229 - DIGEST

      Proposes an amendment to Article XXVII of the state Constitution to delete the authority of an independent commission to establish the salaries of state officials.

      Provides that the state legislature shall establish the salaries.

      Provides that the compensation of any state officer shall not be increased during the term of office.

      Repeals selections 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, and 22 of Article III and section 23 of Article II.
