     On page 1, line 5 of the amendment, after "plan" insert "or if the employee is a member of a Taft-Hartley retirement plan"

EFFECT:  This amendment will exclude persons who are members of a Taft-Hartley retirement plan from membership in PERS.  Consequently, the employee will not be required to make contributions to two retirement systems.
