Background:  In general, only one set of precinct election officers may be assigned to a precinct.

 

Summary of Bill:  Relief or replacement precinct election officers are authorized.  Each such officer must be of the same political party as the officer who is relieved or replaced.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For:  It is difficult to provide staff for the polling places.  This bill will provide the flexibility needed to provide staffing.
