Background:  Parents of juvenile offenders committed to the Department of Social and Health Services are not financially responsible for the care and treatment of their children.

 

Summary:  Parents of juvenile offenders committed to the Department of Social and Health Services are financially responsible for their children and will pay for their children's care based on their ability to pay.  Parents who receive, or are eligible to receive, adoption support payments are not required to contribute to the cost of housing and serving their adopted child.
