Background: Recent flood events in this state and other parts of the country have led many people to believe that floods cannot be "controlled" and that "flood hazard management" or "flood damage reduction" is a more accurate way to describe flood-related activities.
Summary of Bill: Numerous references to "flood control" are changed to "flood hazard management" or "flood hazard reduction." No changes are made to "flood control diking districts" or "flood control zone districts."
