BACKGROUND:
The Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development coordinates services in local communities, including preschool education, volunteer and citizen services, emergency food assistance and various other human services and advocacy programs.
SUMMARY:
Sexual assault prevention and awareness assistance, including assistance to schools, in cooperation with the Superintendent of Public Instruction, is provided as one of the services to communities by the Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development.
SUMMARY OF PROPOSED COMMITTEE AMENDMENT:
Coordination of service delivery, full plan review and avoidance of duplication with programs established under SSB 6174 are required.
