BACKGROUND:

 

Currently the statute of limitations, for sexual assaults of children less than 14 years old, is seven years or three years after the victim's 18th birthday. 

 

The limit applies to rape of a child 1, rape of a child 2, child molestation 1, child molestation 2; and if the victim is under 14 years old, rape 1, rape 2 and incest.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The statute of limitation for sexual assaults against children under the age of 14 years is extended to seven years or seven years after the victim's 18th birthday.
