Brief Description:  Removing the requirement that town council meetings be held within the town limits.

BACKGROUND:

 

All meetings of a town council or city council of the third class must be held within the corporate limits of the town or city.  There are times when it might be appropriate for these councils to meet outside their corporate boundaries.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The requirement that town councils and city councils of the third class meet within the corporate limits is removed.

 

EFFECT OF PROPOSED SUBSTITUTE:

 

The requirement is also deleted for code cities.  The title is amended to reflect substance of the original bill.
