Brief Description: Using labor relations consultants.

BACKGROUND:
Each of the state's taxing districts and political subdivisions are required to file yearly financial reports with the State Auditor. Specific details about expenditures for labor relations consultants are not among the enumerated items that must be reported. There is concern, however, that the use of such consultants is increasing, and that the public should be kept informed about their use.
SUMMARY:
The yearly financial reports filed by taxing districts and political subdivisions with the State Auditor must include a statement of all expenditures for labor relations consultants, with the identification of each consultant, compensation, and the terms and conditions of each agreement or arrangement.
