BACKGROUND:

 

The Legislative Budget Committee is a statutory committee of the Legislature consisting of eight senators and eight representatives.  The committee is authorized to do management surveys and program reviews of state agencies and programs.  These performance audits are intended to improve the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of state government.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Legislative Budget Committee is renamed the Joint Committee on Performance Audits.
