BACKGROUND:
Electrical wiring is required to be done according to legal requirements which are enforced by inspection. Inspections are done either by local inspectors or by the state through the Department of Labor and Industries.
Electricians and electrical contractors are licensed by the department.
SUMMARY:
The Department of Labor and Industries and all incorporated cities and towns have the joint power and duty to enforce the provisions of the electrical inspection law. It is made clear that this power and duty includes proof of licensure and certification.
