BACKGROUND:

 

The Maternity Care Access Act does not specify that family planning services may be provided to women receiving medical assistance or eligible for emergency labor and delivery services.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Family planning services may be provided to women receiving medical assistance under the maternity care access program, or to women eligible for emergency labor and delivery services as specified.  Coverage for family planning services continues for six months following the end of pregnancy.
