BACKGROUND:

Forest lands that are to be converted to urban uses or to other uses such as agriculture do not have to be reforested for two years after the timber is cut. 

SUMMARY:

Any land that is converted within one year will not have to be reforested.  However, reforestation requirements will apply to any lands that are not converted within one year.
