Brief Description:  Requiring the governor prepare a plan to reorganize the office of the commissioner of public lands.

BACKGROUND:

 

If approved at the next general election, SJR 8225 would abolish the Office of Commissioner of Public Lands.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The act takes effect if SJR 8225 is approved at the next general election.

 

The Governor must prepare a reorganization plan to assimilate the functions of the Office of Commissioner of Public Lands.  The plan must be submitted to the Legislature by November 1, 1995, and shall require the Legislature to take action during the 1996 legislative session.  The reorganization takes effect January 13, 1997.
