                      SYNOPSIS AS ENACTED

Brief Description:  Expediting the merger of the departments of community development and trade and economic development.

HOUSE COMMITTEE ON STATE GOVERNMENT

BACKGROUND:

The new Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development (CTED) merges and eliminates the Departments of Trade and Economic Development (DTED) and Community Development (DCD).  This merger is scheduled to be completed on July 1, 1994.

SUMMARY:

The date for completion of the merger is moved up to March 1, 1994.
