BACKGROUND:

 

The Department of Licensing may grant parking privileges to any person who has a disability that limits or impairs his or her ability to walk.  Persons who qualify for special parking privileges may obtain a removable windshield placard that bears the international symbol of access.  Persons disabled and expected to improve within six months may be issued a temporary placard for a period not to exceed six months.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Department of Licensing must ensure that all of its offices and authorized agents have available for immediate use a supply of temporary placards that a temporarily disabled person may obtain when he or she presents a certificate of disability from his or her physician.
