BACKGROUND:

 

Article III, Section 1 of the State Constitution declares that the executive department shall consist of a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Auditor, Attorney General, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and a Commissioner of Public Lands.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Upon approval and ratification of the qualified voters of the state at the next general election, the office of State Treasurer is abolished.  (See SB 6349.)
