HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 93-4636, by Representatives Padden, Dellwo, Sheahan, Appelwick, Foreman, Brown, Ludwig, Mielke, Orr and Silver

 

            WHEREAS, It is the policy of the Washington state legislature to recognize excellence in all fields of endeavor; and

            WHEREAS, Jack R. Dean exhibited the highest levels of excellence throughout his personal, public, and professional life; and

            WHEREAS, Jack R. Dean was the epitome of a well-rounded and dedicated family man, public servant, and attorney; and

            WHEREAS, Jack R. Dean was a lifelong Spokane resident, a World War II Army Veteran, and an active member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church; and

            WHEREAS, Jack R. Dean provided exemplary service and leadership in many activities and organizations throughout the Spokane community and Washington State, including:  The Spokane Eagles; the Washington State Eagles; the National Guard Association of Washington; the Spokane Airport Board; the Eastern Washington University Foundation; the Spokane County Democratic Central Committee; the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors; the Washington State Bar Association President; and the Legal Foundation of Washington; and

            WHEREAS, Jack R. Dean leaves his legacy of commitment to excellence to his wife, Elise Dean; daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Art Sather, Barbara and John Reeder, Judy Dean, and Nancy Smith; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Kris Klohe, Jay and Kim Klohe, Von and Brenda Klohe, Mark and Ellen Klohe, and Scott Klohe; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Christopher Fahey and Kim and John Oord; sister, Patricia L. Roberg; grandchildren, Jennifer, Max, and Tyler Sather, Amyie and Becca Reeder, Katie and Joe Romberg, and Cabel Smith; sixteen stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins;

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the state of Washington honor Jack R. Dean by expressing their appreciation for his many contributions and by wishing the best to his family, friends, and colleagues; and

            BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to Elise Dean.
