Exempting from the shoreline management act certain projects that have been granted hydraulic permits.

          AN ACT Relating to hydraulic permit exemptions from the shoreline management act; and adding a new section to chapter 90.58 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 90.58 RCW to read as follows:

          A public or private project that is designed to improve fish habitat or fish passage, that has been approved by the departments of wildlife or fisheries, and has been given a hydraulic permit is exempt from the requirements of this chapter.

          A public or private project designed to improve wildlife habitat that has been approved by the department of wildlife and has been given a hydraulic permit is exempt from the requirements of this chapter.
