Directing the state auditor to scrutinize funds and accounts under the control of state agencies.


          AN ACT Relating to auditing funds under the control of state agencies; and creating a new section.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  The state auditor shall inventory all revolving funds, local funds, and other funds and accounts that are not managed by or in the care of the state treasurer and that are under the control of state agencies, departments, and subdivisions of state government.  The auditor shall examine each agency's expenditures, accounting methods and procedures, and recordkeeping practices.  The auditor shall report to the legislature by December 1, 1993, and within five months following every biennium thereafter, on the findings of this examination and the status and recommendations for improved management of these funds and accounts.
