Making appointment of the director of the Washington traffic safety commission subject to the consent of the senate.


          AN ACT Relating to the Washington traffic safety commission; amending RCW 43.59.060; and declaring an emergency.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

        Sec. 1.  RCW 43.59.060 and 1967 ex.s. c 147 s 7 are each amended to read as follows:

          The governor as chairman of the commission shall appoint a person to be director of the Washington traffic safety commission ((which)) with the consent of the senate.  The director shall be paid such salary as shall be deemed reasonable and shall serve at the pleasure of the governor.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
