Concerning the possession of salmon and steelhead.



          AN ACT Relating to food fish; adding new sections to chapter 75.10 RCW; and providing an effective date.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  (1) Persons who fish for food fish for personal use may possess no more than thirty salmon or steelhead in the aggregate at one time, in any form, whether fresh, canned, frozen, or otherwise preserved.

          (2) Persons who fish for food fish for personal use may only catch and retain a combined total of thirty salmon or steelhead per year.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  It is unlawful to sell, barter, or trade salmon or steelhead, caught in this state for personal use, in Washington state or another state.  This limitation applies to all forms of salmon and steelhead, whether fresh or processed.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 3.  Sections 1 and 2 of this act are each added to chapter 75.10 RCW.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 4.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1994.
