Modifying funeral expenses of a deceased person.


          AN ACT Relating to funeral expenses of a deceased person; and amending RCW 74.08.125.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

        Sec. 1.  RCW 74.08.125 and 1992 c 108 s 3 are each amended to read as follows:

          If the deceased person is an adult and is survived by a parent or parents, or children, the department ((may)) shall take into consideration the assets of such parent, parents, or children in determining whether or not the department will assume responsibility for the funeral, transportation, or disposition costs.
