HB 1586 - DIGEST

 

     Encourages and facilitates the conversion of mobile home parks to resident ownership in the event of a voluntary sale of the park.

     Provides that, if a qualified tenant organization gives written notice to the owner that they desire to purchase the park, the park may then be sold only in accordance with the act.

     Establishes notice requirements for an owner intending to sell the park.

     Authorizes the department of community development to make loans to resident organizations for the purpose of financing mobile home park conversion costs.

     Establishes requirements for the granting of a loan.

     Authorizes the department to provide technical assistance to tenant organizations wishing to purchase a park.
