HB 1936 - DIGEST

     Directs the department to adopt rules establishing zero-rise floodway by July 1, 1994, for all unincorporated areas designated as within the one hundred year flood plain.

     Provides for the adoption of comprehensive flood hazard management plans.

     Creates a watershed management task force.

     Repeals RCW 79.90.325.

     Encourages permitting procedures to require the removal of accumulated materials from rivers and streams where there is a flood damage reduction benefit.

     Revises provisions for the protection of fish life during construction of hydraulic projects.

     Revises funding for the flood hazard reduction assistance account.

     Revises the requirements for flood hazard information in public offering statements.
