HB 2004 - DIGEST

     Directs the department of corrections and department of general administration to adopt rules that assure the preferential purchase of goods and services provided by class II inmates and prepare an annual report on the actual purchases.

     Requires state agencies, the legislature, and departments to purchase goods and services from class II and IV inmate work programs.

     Provides for the training and development of inmate teams capable of conducting asbestos and underground storage tank cleanup.

     Directs the increase of inmate participation in class I and class II correctional industries work programs.
