HB 2057 - DIGEST

     Creates the department of commerce and community development.

     Consolidates the trade and economic development functions of the department of trade and economic development and the community development functions of the department of community development into the new department.

     Establishes the local economic development service program.

     Directs the new department to assist in the development of a targeted sectors program.

     Establishes a technical assistance and training program.

     Establishes a local development grant program.

     Conforms existing statutory provisions to reflect the creation of the new department.

     Repeals provisions of chapters 43.31 and 43.63A RCW.
