     Establishes procedures to provide specific protections for all residents in long-term care facilities.

     Specifies the rights of the residents and the duties of the long-term care facility.

     Provides for protection of a resident's funds.

     Declares the right of privacy of a resident's personal and clinical records.

     Establishes grievance procedures.

     Declares the right of a resident to be free from physical or chemical restraint, and from any form of abuse.

     Regulates the transfer or discharge of residents.

     Establishes procedures for resolution of violations of the act.

     Requires full disclosure of fee requirements.

     Requires the long-term care ombudsman to monitor implementation of the chapter.

     Clarifies visitation rights.
