HB 2336 - DIGEST

     Redesignates neighborhood reinvestment areas as community empowerment zones.

     Establishes a program to provide tax credits to a person making contributions to nonprofit organizations that are undertaking community empowerment zone assistance activities.

     Authorizes deductions for business loans in community empowerment zones.

     Provides commercial district revitalization technical assistance.

     Authorizes at-risk youth employment tax credits.

     Establishes the Washington Youthbuild Assistance program.

     Provides local communities with the resources to develop community-based responses to crime prevention.

     Provides homeownership assistance for law enforcement officers in the community empowerment zones.

     Makes various appropriations to carry out the purposes of the act.
