HB 2401-S.E - DIGEST

(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

     Requires that residential generated biomedical waste be contained in easily identified containers and separated from the regular solid waste stream to ensure worker safety and promote proper disposal of these wastes in a manner that is environmentally safe and economically sound.

     Provides penalties for violations of the act.

     Declares that it is not a violation to place a sharps waste container into a household refuse or recycling receptacle if the utilities and transportation commission decides that such placement is necessary to reduce the potential for theft.
