HB 2747 - DIGEST

     Declares an intent to:  (1) Increase the speed of the juvenile justice system's response to juvenile offender's criminal behavior;

     (2) increase the certainty of punishment and intervention;

     (3) increase judicial discretion;

     (4) expand the range of disposition alternatives to permit meaningful punishment and effective rehabilitation;

     (5) increase the likelihood that juveniles will comply with the terms of their dispositions by creating compliance incentives and, if necessary, place the juveniles in supportive out-of-home placements; and

     (6) reduce the complexity of the system.

     Repeals RCW 13.40.0354 and 13.40.0357.
