SB 5193 - DIGEST

     Creates the Washington automobile insurance corporation to establish a universal auto insurance program.

     Requires that insurance issued by the corporation be provided without consideration of age, marital status, or sex.

     Authorizes the classification of automobiles and authorizes basic premiums fixed for the class of automobiles.

     Allows additional premiums based on the accident records of the insured.

     Requires insurance to be in force prior to the issuance of a license.

     Requires annual reports to the legislature on the operations of the corporation.

     Makes an appropriation of three hundred million dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.
