SB 5267 - DIGEST

     Clarifies the intent of the legislature that the judiciary should consider all options available for sentencing nonviolent offenders whose presumptive sentence is less than one year.

     Declares that the purpose of the alternative sentencing is to ensure nonviolent offenders are offered full opportunities to achieve self-improvement and to ensure the frugal use of state resources.

     Designates requirements for utilization of home detention.

     Repeals RCW 9.94A.380.
