SB 5271 - DIGEST

     Requires the hatchery propagation, rearing, and release of Chinook salmon into state waters as the highest priority among department hatchery programs.

     Directs the investigation of additional locations that are suitable for semi-intensive pen rearing or pond rearing of Chinook salmon and a report of the findings by December 31, 1993.

     Encourages an expanded blackmouth production program.

     Requires recreational and commercial fishers, and charter boat operators, to purchase a Chinook salmon stamp in addition to other license requirements.
