SB 5339 - DIGEST
Establishes a mechanism for the rapid suspension or revocation of the driving privilege of those persons who drive with an excessive concentration of alcohol in their bodies or who refuse to be tested for alcohol concentration levels.
Provides an opportunity for administrative review prior to the effective date of the suspension or revocation.
Provides for increased periods of revocation or suspension for subsequent violations.
Authorizes the issuance of a provisional driver's license for purposes of participation in an alcohol or drug abuse treatment program.
Requires the traffic safety commission to make a study of the effectiveness of the act and report to the governor and legislature within thirty months of the effective date of the act.
