SB 5519 - DIGEST

     Adds health care assistants to the professions subject to the uniform disciplinary act.

     Removes the board of funeral directors and embalmers from boards having authority under the act and adds the board of pharmacy.

     Increases maximum fines for violations.

     Authorizes the secretary of health to act as the disciplining authority for health care assistants in regard to uncertified practice, the issuance and denial of certificates, and the discipline of certificate holders.

     Sets out board of pharmacy disciplinary authority over pharmacists and pharmacy assistants.

     Authorizes the secretary to issue cease and desist orders against a person believed to be engaged in unlicensed practice.

     Makes technical changes to the uniform disciplinary act.
