SB 5996 - DIGEST

     Provides a legal claim for relief for producers of agricultural food products to recover damages for the disparagement of any agricultural food product.

     Authorizes an award to a plaintiff of a civil fine of not more than one hundred thousand dollars, plus costs.

     Requires actions for damages to be brought within three years.
