SB 6148 - DIGEST

     Declares that the state flood policy is to reduce long-term flood damage in a manner that minimizes adverse impacts on our river systems.

     Provides that a city or county which has not adopted a flood plain ordinance which meets the criteria of the act may not be issued a grant or loan to fund a flood hazard reduction project.

     Authorizes the counties to impose a tax on each owner of a gravel surface mining operation, the proceeds from which are to be used in flood control operations.

     Requires sellers of property located in an area mapped in the one hundred year flood plain to so inform a buyer.
