Background:  RCW 43.88, known as the Budget and Accounting Act, requires that the Governor's biennial budget document be a formal written statement.

 

Summary of Bill:  RCW 43.88 is amended to allow the Governor's budget document to be in either written or electronic form, or both.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Requested on March 1, 1995.

 

Effective Date of Bill:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For:  The budget document can be made available on CD ROM, as well as INTERNET and other electronic means.  Printing costs can be reduced.
