Background:  The Legislature has established a pattern for the sunset of particular departments or departmental activities which include the adoption of a repealer section in law with an effective date occurring beyond the time period of the Legislative Budget Committee review.  A Legislative Budget Committee sunset review of the Department of Information Systems (DIS) has been completed, and it contains a recommendation for the reauthorization of this agency and other recommendations for legislative modifications.

Summary of Bill:  Adoption of this bill reauthorizes the agency.  It does this by canceling or repealing the repealer provisions listed.

Appropriation:  None.

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

Testimony For:  Reauthorizing the agency is warranted because it is the best public private partnership in the state.  The agency supplies a good return on the investment of public dollars.
